For many years now, YPP has partnered with Central Coast Labor Attorney, Jeff Dinkin (Stradling Law Firm in Santa Barbara) to offer an update of new and pending HR laws for the coming year. Once again this year, the event was held as a morning seminar at the Santa Maria Country Club. Over 80 representatives of YPP clients and other local companies were in attendance.
Mr. Dinkin covered a wide variety of new and pending HR rules that will affect virtually every business in California, from preparing for the new equal pay act to who can participate in tip pools, and much, much more.
In addition, YPP was pleased to recognize several long tenured clients:
- Lemos Feed & Pet Supply – a YPP client since 1989, starting with 2-3 stores and now with 14 stores
- CFL, Inc. – a YPP client since 1996, with operations in California and Washington, CFL is now YPP’s largest HR Outsource client
- Renaissance – a long time client since 1998, the owners sold their beautiful antique store in Solvang, and the new owner continued with YPP based on the original owner’s recommendations.
- Sunstone & Artiste – the Rice family has partnered with YPP for multiple businesses, starting in the early 1990’s with WestStar Communities. YPP has had the privilege of working with multiple generations of the Rice family to provide our HR services.
We are thrilled to be able to present this important update every year and hope you were able to attend. If not, please watch our website and email newsletter for next year’s edition. If you do not currently receive our email newsletter, you can sign up on our website – www.ypp.com.
Hello! I was unable to attend the November 4th seminar due to my payroll deadline, but was really interested in the Tip Pool topic. Would you happen to have any notes or information that you can share with me?
Thank you!
